5G router from OPPO - what is worth knowing?
For some months, OPPO 5G CPE T1a has been accessible. Importantly, those who are undecided can put it to the test!
The OPPO 5G CPE T1a is a stylish device that would look good in any setting, be it an office or a homeroom. It has the same dimensions as the Sonos One speaker (180 x 92 x 92 mm), but it is significantly narrower and slightly taller.
Its setup is quite simple: simply insert the nanoSIM card into the bottom slot, attach the equipment to power, and connect a laptop or computer through Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable to navigate through the many settings from the level of a web browser.
To begin, configure passwords (different than the default) for 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks, guest Wi-Fi networks, parental controls, data roaming, DMZ, or WPS.
Wi-Fi 6 is supported by the router. It features two gigabit Ethernet ports and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G processor. It can connect to a maximum of 32 devices. The OPPO 5G CPE T1a has eight built-in antennas, but no ports for external antennas or the ability to use in bridge mode.
It functioned well during the tests, with the most crucial aspect being consistent network access. However, the speeds he obtained varied greatly depending on where we placed him.
Finally, the interior windowsill in the office proved to be the most suitable location, with rates exceeding 200 Mb / s. However, it would be preferable if it stood as high as possible - the measured speed was about 250 Mb / s while holding the router at arm's length.
Are you not sure how this equipment will work in your location?
Once upon a time, years ago, when the internet on the phone cost quite a lot, and the mobile internet offers were tempting, we tried a small USB modem for a laptop. It quickly turned out that at that time such a solution actually saved my online availability in many situations.
